Guiding You Through the Fog
by Travis Holland
God started speaking to me as I was on my plane ride to India. Our plane had been delayed twice because of the weather conditions at the local airport. Finally we took off to head to our destination still through fog, weather, and turbulence.
The pilot announced to put on the seat belts as we got ready to make our decent to our destination. I stared out the window and saw nothing but fog and darkness and could not even see the ground that we would be landing upon. I thought to myself how grateful I was that we had the technology and airport tower to relay the exact course the plane needed to take to get us there safely.
God then spoke to me and said, “In the same way I have given My Spirit to guide many out of the fog and darkness. I desire for them to reach there destination safely, but they are looking at what surrounds them rather than the voice of the One who is trying to guide them. They have taken the delays as denials, rather than the right timing. For the course that is set before many has to be in My planning and My timing. Do not veer off course, do not take off before the timing is right, do not neglect what I’m saying to you. I desire for you to arrive safely at your destination."
Timing is critical in stepping into your season. You can try to force the season and His planning but you will end up with immature fruit that has not ripened to God's best for you. He desires that you walk in His fullness and not step out in an area that will end up hurting you instead of prospering you.
Habakkuk 2:3, "For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."
He has a destiny and course set before you. It does not look like anyone else’s because He has made you unique and set apart to impact the world around you. You are not a mistake nor are you cast to the side. God deeply longs to see you walk out what you were born to do. Do not try to imitate and become someone else because you see success. They have their own set course too. Your course and call may look similar but God made you set apart with your own personal destiny.
Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG), "I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out--plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for."
Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG), "Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all."
Jeremiah 1:5 (MSG), “Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations--that’s what I had in mind for you.”
